This is such an exciting time in your life. It may also be a confusing or anxious time. How do you navigate all the conflicting information out there surrounding pregnancy and birth? How will you cope with labour? What if you have to have a cesarean birth? Will breastfeeding go smoothly? You’ve probably heard more than your share of scary stories and don’t want that to be you.
Childbirth is a powerful event in your life that will stay with you forever. Wouldn’t it be nice if there was someone who could help guide you through the process, who has experienced childbirth herself and would support you 100% in your choices so that your childbirth experience can be as wonderful as you imagine it to be?
There is such a person! Your doula!
The word doula (pronounced doo-lah) comes from the Greek word meaning “woman servant”. In modern context, the term doula has come to mean a professionally trained support person who provides physical and emotional support to the expectant mother and her family before, during and after birth.

*You want frank, honest answers to your questions, no matter how “silly”.
*You get nervous thinking about the pain of labour and would like someone to be there to help you get through it from beginning to end

I am Ariana Horning, Registered Massage Therapist, birth doula, and placenta service provider and I am here to serve you during this journey. I believe that you deserve a positive birth experience. I believe that you deserve to be listened to and respected. I believe you have the right to know your options and the right to informed consent. I believe you deserve continuous support through the duration of your birth experience. My goal is to help you have the best birth experience you can have.
